


The great founder of aikido, Ueshiba Sensei, once explained meditation as 'Keeping One Point.'
As we all know, the weight of all objects are on it's lowest point, it's underside. Our body responds the same way to this law of physics too. After all, we are a mass of weight, therefore, the same law should apply. That said, imagine an endlessly small sphere about two inches below your naval (belly button) just sitting there, decreasing ever so slowly in size. Now, a very elementary way of describing the next step is to think of a laser beam, from a sci-fi movie perhaps will work. Imagine those beams of light, not as beams of actual light, but beams of pure, pure energy from the ends of the universe (which since the universe keeps on expanding, there is no end to it, but we will just say end to give an example of infinite length). These lines we shall call Ki Lines. Pronounced Key Lines. Ki is the energy of life, in Aikido.
Imagine these lines coming into the One Point which is inside you, a few inches below the belly button. Imagine this contstant array of energy just coming in, without stopping. In time as you practice this, you will advance your thinking of ki lines, not as beams of energy, but as powerful energy in the form of smoke, steam could be the best example to be used here. Ueshiba Sensei stated from the beginning, to imagine Ki as purple smoke entering the belly. Once his students followed his teachings and expanded on his knowledge, they learned to refine what he said, which is what i have briefly explained. Meditating in this way will make you so much more calm and tranquil, able to conquer almost any feat in your existence, helping make a calming affect on others around your 'aura' of positivity and overcoming anything you wish to achieve, physical or mental, it will be so much more possible and easier once you have established good meditation images. Remember when meditating, you are not forcing the lines of ki (or the steam of Ki) into your One Point, but actually just seeing them and felling them enter and fill your entire body with healing effects, strengthening every part of you. Headaches, body pains, or just to clear your mind, MEDITATION is the way to get you there.
Try it, you have nothing to lose, but only to gain the most unknown mistic thing in this universe.
